Event details
Session leader: Prof Debra Myhill
Everyone who writes a thesis is very aware of the formal writing demands of the thesis itself, but far fewer think about how they can use writing to support the process of research. This session will explore a range of practical ways to use writing as a tool for learning. There will be no consideration of academic writing: instead, the session will consider how you can use writing to develop and organise your ideas, to help you think about themes and theories, and to synthesise complex information. It is not about academic writing for the thesis, but about using writing as a tool for developing your thinking.
Level: For early to mid-stage research students
