Politics in Cornwall alumni celebration

The Politics Department is celebrating 10 years at the Penryn campus and will be hosting a reunion

The Politics Department is celebrating 10 years at the Penryn campus in Cornwall and will be hosting a reunion event for alumni on Saturday 4th July so save the date in your diary!

Event details

To mark ten years of the Penryn campus in Cornwall, the Politics department is hosting a celebratory event for all Penryn Politics alumni - single and joint honours. We hope to see as many familiar faces as possible at what promises to be a fantastic event.

Date: Saturday 4 July 2015

Place: Green Seminar Room, The Exchange building, Penryn campus

We are thrilled to be welcoming Professor John Curtice (University of Strathclyde, President of the British Polling Council, and the man responsible for the BBC exit poll that had Paddy Ashdown promising to eat his hat and Alastair Campbell a kilt – but proved to be accurate) to deliver a talk on Lessons from the 2015 General Election. Alumni will also hear a series of short talks from staff in the department, including research updates, before having the chance to network with fellow alumni and staff (both past and present) at the drinks reception.

15: 45 Arrival
16:00  ‘Lessons from the 2015 General Election’ by guest speaker Professor John Curtice, alongside updates from the department
17:30 Drinks reception
18:30 Event ends

Following the reception, staff from the department will be heading into Falmouth for dinner and would very much like our alumni to join us, though please note that dinner off-campus is not an official part of the event and will not be funded by the University.

If you choose to make a weekend of your trip to Cornwall you may wish to stay overnight in student accommodation.

To register your interest in attending, please e-mail Jane Channon by Friday 12 June.

Or to hear more about the event, please email Professor Dan Stevens.
