EUC Exeter Branch: Outing to Dartmouth Royal Naval College

The EUC is a friendly club for alumni, graduates and retired staff of Exeter University and their families. As well as those who have studied or worked on the Streatham Campus, this also includes St Lukes and the Tremough Campus, the former Camborne School of Mines, the Medical School and the (pre 1955) University College of the South West of England.

Event details

The tour with our individual guide will start at 2.30pm from the front of the main RNC building, and will last about 2 hours. The cost of the tour will be £8.50 per person. A photographic ID (e.g. passport, driving licence, or bus pass) is required to gain admission to the college grounds. It is recommended that all visitors arrive at the gates by car.

While showing us around on this tour, our individual tour guide will provide some history of the Royal Navy and BRNC, together with its present-day role in delivering training for today’s young Royal Naval Officers serving in the modern Fleet.

Before the visit, we shall meet for lunch, from 12pm, at the Floating Bridge Inn, Coombe Road, Dartmouth TQ6 9PQ.  Tel. 01803 832354. It is an old-fashioned pub beside the River Dart and close to the Higher Ferry.

To book: Contact Peter Wingfield-Digby on 01392 424781 or email: pwdigby@btinternet.com by Wednesday 6th May 2015 to book your place.

Further details of forthcoming Exeter Branch events can be found on the branch's website. To find out about membership and joining the club, please contact the Secretary, Mike Aspray at eucexeterbranch@gmail.com.
