Event details
Bernard Paquito from the University of Montpellier will be giving a seminar titled 'Efficacy of exercise and counseling for depressed patients as an aid for smoking cessation, a randomized controlled trial: Design and method'.
Abstract: Smoking is significantly higher among smokers with depressive disorders. Smokers with depressive disorders may report more difficulties when they quit smoking (greater withdrawal symptoms, higher probability of relapse). However, a potential treatment, exercise, has received limited attention for these specific smokers. The aim of this trial is to determine the effects of exercise and counseling intervention on smoking abstinence at three months when used as an adjunct treatment.
The Sport and Health Sciences seminar series is orgranised by Dr Stephen Bailey (S.J.Bailey@exeter.ac.uk).
