'Come and Sing!' Mendelssohn’s Elijah concert

With pre-concert drinks and talk by leading academic

Come along to enjoy this wonderful concert on campus. You can even sing this choral masterpiece from scratch with the University of Exeter Chapel Choir. Pre-concert drinks will provide a unique opportunity to hear a talk by a leading academic.


Event details

  • Rehearsals start at 2pm (with a buffet at 5.30pm for the singers)  
  • Pre-concert drinks will start at 6pm with a talk by a leading academic in Seminar Room A/B in the Old Library
  • The 'Mendelssohn’s Elijah' concert starts at 7pm in the beautiful setting of the Mary Harris Memorial Chapel

Alumni are welcome to participate as singers with the choir (details on booking form), or simply enjoy the pre-concert drinks and / or the concert itself. 

Pre-concert drinks and talk

The pre-concert drinks and talk ‘A Legacy for Knowledge:  Discovering our History in Devon’ – will provide a special opportunity to hear Professor Stephen Rippon talking about his latest archaeological project partly funded by a legacy from TV presenter and archaeologist Mick Aston.  Come and discover what the archaeological dig in Ipplepen has revealed about this South Devon village in Roman times, and how one man's legacy has helped support community involvement in research conducted by Exeter.
