Who are the GW4?

W are one of the most successful regional alliances in securing Research Council funded doctoral studentships. Our programmes provide cutting-edge doctoral study within a dynamic research culture that encourages innovative and cross-disciplinary collaboration.

Why should I attend?

This is a unique opportunity for current undergraduate and Masters students to find out more about the Postgraduate Research programmes available within our four research-intensive universities.

  • More than 300 fully-funded doctoral studentships available.
  • More than 30 centres for doctoral training exhibiting their researcher programmes.
  • Sector-leading researcher development training.

There are real benefits from undertaking a doctoral programme through Doctoral Training Centres and Partnerships, including:

  • Competitive stipends;
