POSTPONED AS A RESULT OF THE FORECASTED INCLEMENT WEATHER As part of Go Green Week, Local bike charity, Ride On, are on campus from 10:30 am – 3:00 pm offering a range of free bike maintenance workshops.

As part of Go Green Week, Local bike charity, Ride On, are on campus from 10:30 am – 3:00 pm offering a range of free bike maintenance workshops. A list of these are shown below. 

  • 10:30-11:00am: Punctures – Here you’ll be shown the best ways of dealing with a puncture.
  • 11:30am-12:00pm: Brakes – Learn how to maintain your brakes to avoid costly repairs and keep your bike safe. Focuses on rim brakes, but with some tip for disc brakes.
  • 12:30-1:00pm: Gears - Here you’ll be shown how to index your gears for slick shifting, and trouble shoot common problems with derailleur gears.
  • 1:30-2:00pm: Brakes – Learn how to maintain your brakes to avoid costly repairs and keep your bike safe. Focuses on rim brakes, but with some tip for disc brakes.
  • 2:30–3:00pm: Punctures – Here you’ll be shown the best ways of dealing with a puncture.

Their bike mechanic will use a demonstration bike for these sessions and you will have the opportunity to have a go yourself - however, you are also welcome to bring your own bike along if you have one.
