Saving Our Blue Planet: the work of Exeter Marine

FULLY BOOKED - Waiting List Available

All Exeter alumni, friends and those with an interest in the work of the Exeter Marine initiative are invited to this special evening to learn more about the work being done to protect our oceans.

Event details

Centuries of human impact on our oceans are now delivering severe consequences for us all. Climate change and plastic pollution threaten vital ecosystems and human health, while overfishing has pushed many species to the brink of extinction. We must act now to protect and preserve our Blue Planet.

But how?

Exeter Marine is at the forefront of a more sustainable relationship with our oceans, sharing education and undertaking research with policy makers and industry.

Scientists working as part of Exeter Marine are developing solutions to protect our oceans in the face of this climate and ecological emergency. Guests at this event will have the opportunity to speak directly with scientists working to:

• Create sustainable fishing practices worldwide;
• pioneer innovative approaches to aquaculture;
• launch new technologies in offshore renewable energy;
• understand how we can use and steward our oceans in the most sustainable way.

All Exeter alumni, friends and those with an interest in this work are invited to this special evening to learn more about the work of Exeter Marine and how we can protect our oceans. Come along to find out more and meet up with fellow alumni and friends over refreshments.

Tickets: £10
