We have launched an exciting new, short film competition, which is open to all students of the Archaeology and History Department.

Event details

This event page is for information about the short film competition only. If you would like further details, please email your Student Experience Officer, U.Cooper2@exeter.ac.uk.

We have launched an exciting new, short film competition, which is open to all students of the Archaeology and History Department.

We would like you to produce a short video (of no longer that two minutes) that captures the essence of your time studying in the Archaeology and History Department, which shows us the interesting things that you get up to whilst studying here. Do you use equipment in the Digital Humanities Lab? Do you like reading in the library? Have you an interest in a local historical building that you would like to show us? Do you play sport or enjoy a nosey around the RAMM museum? We want to see it in a short film. Beginners, film buffs, and seasoned filmmakers all welcome to submit to us! These can be produced on your phone or any other method you like.

You can also submit videos on behalf of the History Society or Archaeology and Forensics Society to win a prize of £150, which can be used for society activities.

If other people appear in your short film, they will need to fill in and submit this consent form.

Once your film has been created, please tag @uoearchhistdept on TikTok in your video (or add as a caption) and send your video via link or in a video format to your Student Experience Officer, u.cooper2@exeter.ac.uk

Deadline Monday 5 June (midnight). A judging panel of staff within the Archaeology & History Department will decide on the winners. The winners of the competition will be announced at the Department end of year social. Book your place, here: University of Exeter Archaeology & History Dept. Events | Eventbrite

Prizes:

£150 voucher – First prize

£100 voucher – Second prize

£50 voucher – Third prize
