This one day workshop on Thursday 3 July aims to encourage collaboration in water systems engineering, conservation biology, the social and political impacts of floods, and the applications of GIS.

Attendees will be joined by members of the South West Regional Flood and Coastal Committee (SW RFCC), Environment Agency, academics, policy makers, and industry representatives.

Our aim is to increase collaboration through collaborative research, training, and student placements, internships and projects.

The motto of the workshop is: what can we do for you and what can you do for me?

Speakers

Professor Robert Van de Noort (University of Exeter and Chair of SW RFCC) will chair speakers including; Andrew Roantree of South West Water, Alan Burrows of the Environment Agency, and Professor Dragan Savic, Dr Ilya Maclean, Dr Duncan Russel, and Professor Rolf Aalto of the University of Exeter.

09.55 Welcome and overview.

10.00 Short presentations from industry, policy makers, and academics.

11.15 Break.

11.30 Workshops - focused on water systems engineering, conservation biology, the social and political impacts of floods, and the applications of GIS.

12.30 Reconvene and washup.

13.00 Lunch.

14.00 Workshop ends and SW RFCC board meeting starts.
