iDemocracy: social science data analysis in real life

A two-day event bringing together school students, social researchers, and developers

Event details

Information

Year 11 students will work alongside social researchers and developers to create a Vote Advice Application, an online tool for their school fellows to find out which political party is closer to the issues that matter to them.

On the first day students will identify which issues are important to them, develop a survey, and find out where the parties are placed on those areas. The application will be sent out to all their schoolmates.

On day two the group will take advantage of Exeter’s cutting-edge facilities to analyse and explore patterns in the data they have helped to produce.

Please note: this event takes place on 4 and 7 November 2014.
