Sarah’s research focuses on the development of cranial motor neurons and the question of how their axons are guided to their muscle targets during development.

She is especially interested in the cranial nerves which innervate the eye muscles, and how these nerve projections can fail to form correctly, giving rise to eye movement disorders such as Duane syndrome.
