Public Engagement Conversation: the first steps of engagement with non-academic partners

Impact and Engaged Research Network

Event details

Who should attend?

The Impact and Engaged Research Network is open to all academic (including PGR) and Professional Services staff (research managers, administrators, project officers, events managers, etc.) who are interested in impact and engagement.

If you wonder what best practice looks like, or if you are new to both impact and engagement and want to know how to do it or what it means then please come along.

Conversation aims:

  • How to identify potential collaborators.
  • The ways in which you can make those first approaches to discuss initial ideas for research and events with external partners.
  • The skills required to be a good ‘engager’ and for supporting engagement.
  • How to communicate research to different audiences.

What is the event about?

The first Public Engagement Conversation will focus on the process of engagement through sharing a case study which focuses on both academic and professional service roles in engagement.

There will be the opportunity to take part in facilitated discussion afterwards.
