Engineering professionals are invited to a free event held by the West of England Metals and Materials Association (WEMMA).
Professor Mark Jolly (Prof of Sustainable Manuf & Head of SMSC, Cranfield University) will be discussing his EPSRC funded projects - “Energy Saving in the Foundry Industry” and “Small is Beautiful”, which is investigating Design for Energy Efficient Manufacturing.
There will be an opportunity to meet students from the University of Exeter and network with engineering companies from across the region.
Professor Mark Jolly
Mark Jolly is a Professor in Sustainable Manufacturing at Cranfield University.
Professor Jolly has spent 14 years in industrial positions in the UK and Switzerland.
He returned to academia by setting up a technical support centre for the foundry industry at the University of Birmingham.
Mark is now the Chair of Sustainable Manufacturing at Cranfield University.
His main areas of current research are:
• Resource efficient manufacturing
• Process modelling
• Novel casting processes
