Debating the History of War in 100 Battles

Richard Overy discusses his latest book, The History of War in 100 Battles, with Jeremy Black. The book explores the idea of battle to show that over most of the past 4,000 years the ingredients that separate victory from defeat have remained the same, even while the technology becomes more lethal and more technically sophisticated. It asks whether the conflicts of the 21st century will continue to be based on 'battle' or whether a Revolution in Military Affairs is here to stay.
