Celebration of our Diamond Jubilee Charter Day and the launch of our new Values

Glance back; look forward.

Event details

All colleagues are invited to share in a celebration of our heritage and achievements, alongside the launch of our new values at a festive event on 16 December.

In this month, 60 years ago, the University was officially awarded its Royal Charter -  this event will be a chance for colleagues to toast our success and achievements, particularly over the last 60 years, and will also be an opportunity to look forward to the future with the launch of our new values.

The event will be hosted by Vice-Chancellor, Professor Sir Steve Smith, and will start with a short talk in the Alumni Auditorium, followed by a toast in the Forum Street, also given by the Vice Chancellor, to mark the anniversary of our Charter and to celebrate our Diamond Jubilee year. Students are invited to join this toast at 3pm.

You will be able to find out more about how you can demonstrate our values in action by visiting stands in the Forum Street, you can make a pledge with our ‘Values in Action Christmas Tree’,  and there will be a competition running with the opportunity to win £100 for the charity of your choice.

Festive refreshments: mulled wine and mince pies will be served.

Buses will be available for colleagues at St Luke’s who would like to attend the event. Please email internalcomms@exeter.co.uk
by 9 December to register.

Colleagues at Penryn and Truro are invited to a festive celebration with Professor Mark Goodwin, Deputy Vice-Chancellor (Innovation and External Engagement) on 18 December at Penryn. A celebration cake to mark our Diamond Jubilee Charter Day will be available for this event and Professor Goodwin will toast the occasion. Any colleagues who would like to attend the event at Streatham on 16 December can email internalcomms@exeter.co.uk
by 9 December with details.
