Event aims:
This information session will be led by Dr Bridget Sealey, Research Development Manager from Research Support, with Professor Bill Barnes (Chair of the Leverhulme Strategy group) in Streatham, and Professor Tom Tregenza (member of the Leverhulme Strategy group) will support in Penryn. Professor James Mark who is a current RLA holder will also join the session.
The event will provide information about the Leverhulme Research Leadership Award and the institution’s internal selection process for this scheme.
Information:
The Leverhulme Research Leadership awards aim to support talented scholars who have successfully launched a university career but who need to build a research team of sufficient scale to tackle a distinctive research problem. The following criteria also apply:
- Each institution is limited to one bid only.
- Awards are each for a sum of between £800,000 and £1million over a period of between 4-5 years.
- Awards are for the provision of research assistants, research students and associated costs.
- Applicants will have held a university post for at least two years but will not yet have developed their academic career such that the trajectory of their research contribution has become firmly established.
