About the session

REGISTRATION IS NOW CLOSED!

What makes a good research bid? As well as looking at what qualities a funder looks for in a well written competitive bid, this interactive session will give delegates a chance to reflect on an example of a well written bid and will provide them with pointers on various aspects of bid preparation. The workshop will be interactive in nature and you will be encouraged to share experiences and partake in group exercises.

EPSRC and NERC will be the main funders of focus.

The instructor

Dr Pamela Johnstone was originally a researcher herself before managing multi-million pound research portfolios for large research funders. She has considerable experience in research, research strategy, development and management within the contexts of Higher Education, national research funding organisations and research institutes. As a Research Development Consultant she provides inside knowledge of research funder assessment and what makes grants competitive.
