What are the sessions about?

Malgorzata Czerwiec from the UK Research Office will be providing information on four European research funding schemes on Thursday 26 May 2016. Please see the programme below for times of each seminar.

ERC grants are prestigious awards where the sole evaluation criterion is scientific excellence of the researcher and the research proposal. Any discipline can apply for an ERC. The focus is on cutting edge, state of the art research.

Grant Who for Amount
ERC Starting For top researchers with 2-7 years’ experience after PhD. €1.5 million for 5 years
ERC Consolidator For top researchers with 7-12 years’ experience after PhD. €2 million for 5 years
ERC Advanced For established researchers who have a recent research track-record which identifies them as leaders in their respective field of research €2.5 million for 5 years

MSCA Fellowships enable academics to host talented researchers currently based abroad. There is no restriction on subject.  This session is aimed at academics who will host Fellows.

European Fellowships European Fellowships are Fellowships that take place at a host in an EU Member State or Associated Country – they are open to researchers from anywhere in the world who want to come and work in the EU, or for researchers currently in an EU MS/AC who want to experience a different EU MS/AC country. The duration is 1-2 years.
Global Fellowships Global Fellowships are for researchers currently based in the EU who want to spend some time researching in a country outside the EU MS/AC. They are based on 1-2 year secondments from a European host to a host in a ‘Third country’ – followed by a mandatory 12 month return period to their European host. The duration is 2-3 years.
