Andrew Griffiths - A career in fish genetics AND what's it like to be a new Education & Scholarship lecturer in the department

Part of the Biosciences Early Career Researcher Network research/careers seminar series.

Event details

Dr Andrew Griffiths is part of the Molecular Ecology & Evolution Group in Exeter Biosciences, developing and using molecular approaches to solve those problems that traditional ecological methods have trouble tackling.

His particular focus is on fish (both marine and freshwater) due to the variety of habitats they occupy and the commercial & conservation significance of many species. He also lectures extensively in the department. In his own words “my research has served as the foundation for all my teaching and I have always taken every opportunity to communicate my interest and enthusiasm for biology to students, colleagues and more widely in the community”.

His talk will discuss his career in fish genetics and his experience as a new lecturer in the Biosciences department in Exeter.
