Victoria Wallace
Victoria graduated with a law degree from Exeter in 1987, the “big bang” year, but inexplicably to her friends, eschewed the magic circle and the banks offering indecent salaries in the milk round, and chose a life of public service. She joined the FCO as a diplomat then managed a chunk of the criminal justice system, worked for a charity running a castle, and most recently, was appointed first woman Director General of the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. She’s driven by a desire to make things work better, making (or saving) money, and delivering benefits for people.
