During this open presentation Michael Parker will explain how researchers can contribute to and benefit from The Conversation.
The Conversation is a news analysis and opinion website written by academics and funded by more than 70 UK and European universities.
Working with an editor, researchers write short pieces that deliver academic expertise directly to the public.
During this presentation Michael will explain:
- What The Conversation is
- What it aims to achieve and what the benefits are
- Guidance on how to think of the news value of research and academic expertise
- How to pitch ideas to the editor
