Exeter University Club: Talk by Pamela Vass on the 1952 Lynmouth Floods

Come to this talk by Pamela Vass, a local author.

Event details

Many remember the summer of 1952 when flash-floods destroyed the small fishing village of Lynmouth on the North Devon coast. She was intrigued by rumours of government interference with the weather, and spent many months accessing previously secret documents at the National Archives in Kew.

This talk uncovers the incredible true story that creates the backdrop for her novel Seeds of Doubt. She will also include some readings from the book and anecdotes about the research and writing process.

Join us for lunch from 12, if you can. The talk will start at 2 pm.
