These town hall meetings, hosted by Professor Neil Gow (Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Research and Impact) will enable staff on Research contracts to find out more about the processes for determining eligibility for Research Excellence Framework (REF) as specified in the University’s REF2021 Code of Practice.
This is an opportunity to learn more about the REF2021 definition of an “Independent Researcher” and the criteria provided by Research England.
The aim of this session is to give a specific overview of:
An understanding of your contribution to the University’s REF2021 submission
Our approach to determining how staff meeting the REF2021 definition of “Independent Researcher”
The nature of the criteria
How the criteria will be applied and by whom?
The process for reviewing eligibility and the forms that you may need to complete
