The Joyce Youings Memorial Lecture: Professor Peter Marshall (Warwick)
'Kirk and Community in Early Modern Orkney'.
Peter Marshall is Professor of History at the University of Warwick. Born and raised in Orkney, and educated at University College, Oxford, he has published extensively on religious belief and practice in early modern Britain and Europe, and particularly on the cultural and political impact of the English Reformation. Peter is a Fellow of the British Academy, a Fellow of the Royal Historical Society, and winner of the 2018 Wolfson History Prize for his book, Heretics and Believers: A History of the English Reformation (New Haven and London: Yale University Press, 2017).
