Non-financial reporting in EU law - comparing progress in the UK and Spain’

Event details

We will have a pleasure to listen to a presentation by two prominent speakers of their group paper on a topic, in which there has been a lot of interesting developments in the area of EU corporate law. France and the Netherlands are arguably leading the way with more stringent laws against exploitation and child labour, inspired by the European Non-Financial Reporting Directive. In the UK there are rules on Strategic reporting and a requirement to report on due diligence in the Modern Slavery Act. Spain has only recently introduced a new law implementing the Non-Financial Reporting Directive. The paper compares the progress that may result from the implementation of this Directive in the UK and Spain, discussing such important topics as corporate responsibilities, sustainable business practices and the role of the EU in it.
