About the talk

San Diego is considered as one of America’s best cities (#4) for Startup Entrepreneurship per 2017 Kauffman’s Index of Startup Activity. From what was considered to be one of the best places to retire in the US, the transformation of San Diego from a retirement town to one of the hottest startup spots has been remarkable. The purpose of this talk is to identify the specific role of universities and the local communities in engaging with each other to create such vibrant ecosystems for entrepreneurship & innovation. Specific questions that will be considered are what are the specific practices that ecosystem players employ to catalyze successful entrepreneurship and innovation ecosystems?
