University of Exeter students celebrate Graduation

The University of Exeter congratulates its new graduates this week as nearly 4,600 students are awarded with degrees during six days of ceremonies in Exeter and Cornwall.

Graduation ceremonies for students based at the Exeter campuses will run from Monday 16 to Friday 20 July, with up to three ceremonies a day.

Students from the Cornwall Campus will graduate on Monday 23 July during three ceremonies held in Truro Cathedral.

All degrees will be awarded by the University of Exeter’s Chancellor Baroness Floella Benjamin OBE. Baroness Benjamin said: “Graduation is a very special time when we celebrate the achievements of our students. It is a great privilege for me as Chancellor to congratulate each one of them as I award their degrees. Their University of Exeter degrees will stand them in very good stead for whatever they decide to do in the future. I hope that they will keep in touch with the University as they go out to make a difference to the world as Exeter graduates.”

University of Exeter graduates will leave with a degree from a top 10 UK university, which is ranked in the top one per cent of universities in the world. They will join 79,000 other Exeter alumni, many of whom remain in frequent contact with the University after graduation.

New graduates will have witnessed the University go from strength to strength during their studies, most recently with the historic announcement that the University of Exeter has been invited to join the Russell Group of leading research led institutions. They have also witnessed the launch of the new Forum development, opened by Her Majesty The Queen in May, and the ambitious growth of the Cornwall Campus.

The University is also welcoming a whole host of honorary graduates.

The ceremonies will be streamed live from our Graduation website.
