Pret A Manger has chosen to open an outlet at the University of Exeter

University of Exeter selected for first on-campus Pret A Manger

Pioneering British food and coffee brand, Pret A Manger, has selected the University of Exeter’s Streatham site as the location for its first outlet embedded in a University campus

The new shop will be located in the Forum, the flagship Campus hub, when it opens around the end of April.

The exciting outlet, which will be adjacent to the existing Market Place store, is being launched in response to student feedback which asked for new, additional food and drink options on campus.
The partnership is also expected to provide further opportunities for student employment.

Phil Attwell, Director of Campus Services at the University of Exeter, said: "We are delighted to welcome Pret's inaugural campus shop in our flagship Forum building, which is at the heart of our Streatham Campus. The new outlet will help to further expand the offering of fresh, healthy foods available to our staff and students. We are constantly listening to our students and take on board their ideas for improving their experience. We are also always keen to evolve the choices open to students and staff, and the new shop is an excellent example of delivering on this."

Laura-Jane Tilley, President of the University of Exeter Students’ Guild said: “I’m pleased that the University has responded to student feedback about demand on campus for catering facilities at peak times as an extra outlet in a central location will certainly help. We have worked alongside the University to ensure that the new operator was chosen in line with student preferences. The University is also responding to our members’ views on pricing and I’m pleased that the new service will be complimented with a range of options for differing budgets.”

Caroline Cromar, Pret’s Group Director of Food and a trained nutritionist, believes that the fresh, natural menu will be a benefit to the university’s students. She said: “We’re thrilled to be opening our first ever university shop. This is an exciting new area for Pret and one that we hope will have a real impact on the students living and studying on campus.”

The shop will stock a selection of the same Pret menu now familiar on many high streets, and will offer handmade natural food, including sandwiches, salads, wraps, baguettes and hot options, as well as menu of organic teas and coffees, and a large selection of juices and cold drinks.
