Exeter hits top 10 for Medicine in prestigious rankings

The subject rose four places for 2019, coming in at number 9. The programme saw significant increases in rankings of student experience and teaching quality.

Medical Sciences achieved once of the biggest climbs in the new ranking, with a sharp rise in research quality accounting for a climb from 30th to 12th place.

Radiography, which represents Medical Imaging, held 2nd place.

Professor Clive Ballard, Executive Dean and Pro-Vice Chancellor at the University of Exeter Medical School, said: “I’m delighted to see such an excellent performance across all our undergraduate subjects. These rankings are highly influential, and take into account teaching, research and student experience. I’d like to thank all our staff – whatever their role, their dedication and expertise has contributed to these results.”

The news comes as the University was named best in the South West in the guide, rising two places to number 12 overall.
