We raised more than £3,300 together
More than £3,300 raised for charity by engaged University staff
Staff at the University have raised an impressive £3,306 for charity by completing their Employee Engagement Survey. 73% of colleagues gave their feedback in the survey, which was open from 7-28 November 2016.
The following charities will receive donations:
Children’s Hospice South West £1,142
Cancer Research UK £1,085
Devon Wildlife Trust £620
Balloons young people bereavement support £459
The University donated £1 each time a colleague filled in a copy of the survey, with people selecting one of the four above. Colleagues voted to select the four charities from a longlist in October 2016.
The Employee Engagement Survey happens every two years; this is the first year that connected charity fundraising has taken place.
Angie Allcock, Head of People Development says: “It is fantastic to have raised so much for such worthy charities, and we look forward to giving updates to colleagues on what difference our donations will make to their work. We are delighted that more than 3,300 members of staff took the time to let us know how it feels to work here, giving us an accurate picture on which to base actions.”
University level results will be shared on Monday 19 December. Colleges and Services will begin analysing their results in January and preparing for action planning workshops in February where they will look at both successes and areas for improvement. At the same time, there will be ‘Topic-Based’ Action Groups looking at University-wide themes. Workshops at a local level by discipline/team/department will take place in March and April.
