Nominated accommodation

Northfield Northernhay and Point Exe

The University has forged links with private companies to expand the range of available accommodation within the city.

If you have been offered accommodation in Northfield; Northernhay or Point Exe, you will enter into a contract directly with the company who own and manage the residence. Services and facilities do vary from University-owned/managed accommodation and you should confirm all details by reading your contract. You will receive details about arriving at the accommodation with your contract.

The day-to-day residential and central facility arrangements are the responsibility of the accommodation provider (eg UNITE or  Signpost).

All housekeeping and maintenance matters (e.g.: keys, accessibility, cleaning, damage, equipment failure and the general fabric of the accommodation) can be dealt with by speaking to any of the staff at the Reception. Outside of office hours, please check the arrangements for your specific residence.

Student Mentors live alongside other residents in self-catering accommodation.  They offer peer support to residents in their area, and are able to assist with a range of issues and problems, including practical issues around communal living, queries about University or local facilities, and personal concerns.  As students themselves, they have experience of the challenges and rewards of University life, and can offer support within the residence community. Where further advice is needed, Student Mentors are able to direct students to other University services – if they can’t provide assistance themselves, they will be able to tell you who can.

The Student Mentor teams are headed by Senior Resident Tutors. The Senior Resident Tutors are managed by our Residence Support Advisor who can be contacted via the Accommodation Office.

The contact details for Student Mentors and Senior Resident Tutors are displayed in the residences.
