Whatever you need, our friendly Welcome Team will be on hand to help. What to expect
Freshers' Week is your opportunity to settle into University life through attending compulsory events, getting to know your way around campus and your new surroundings, meeting your new classmates and making new friends. It is a great time to meet new people and try new things if you want to.
All new students at Exeter will receive a Welcome Bag when they arrive. If you are in university accommodation this will be when you get your room key or it will be in your room. If you are not in university accommodation you can collect a bag from the SID Desk in the Forum. In your Welcome Bag will be a Freshers' Week Guide and guides to Athletics, Music and Finance as well as some other things. It's important that you read the booklets carefully - especially the Freshers' Week Guide. You'll then be prepared for everything you need, and want, to do during the week.
If you are based at the Exeter campuses look at the events online or download the iExeter App and write down all your compulsory events and the things you want to try in the blank timetable in the Freshers' Guide. The Freshers' Week Guide also contains a checklist so you can start ticking off those important tasks.
Students at our Cornwall Campus should visit the FXU website where details of Freshers' Week activities are available or click Events in Cornwall to access a pdf version. You will receive Cornwalll specific information when you arrive. Additional academic related details will be mailed to you from your College.
At some points during your first few weeks at University you might be feeling nervous or unsure about what to expect but don't forget that everyone is in the same position as you, so say hello and make new friends. The Welcome Team are there to help you throughout the week, go to the SID desk in the Forum or why not drop in at the Welcome Lounge in the Student Services Centre, Forum during the week for a chat.
