Penryn Campus

Eat, drink, shop and enjoy

Lower Stannary, Refectory

There is a 300-seater restaurant on campus which serves coffees and a full range of hot and cold meals, from roast dinners to pasties, sandwiches, soups and salads. The restaurant is open for breakfast and lunch during the week from 8am to 2.30pm. We work to the philosophy of fresh ingredients prepared and cooked as close to service as possible.

The theme of the ‘International’ counter changes weekly, with choices of cuisine highlighting different countries such as Mexico, Italy and India, to celebrating food weeks such as the British Sausage Week and Fish Week.

Jacket potatoes with a changing choice of hot and cold fillings, both meat & vegetarian, are available every day, as are burgers and fries. For those wanting something a little more substantial there is the choice from the ‘Specials’ counter which offers changing daily choices from roast dinners with all the trimmings to chilli con carne and rice to pasta bakes with vegetables. There is a vegetarian option on every counter and where possible we try to offer gluten free options too.

Koofi

Koofi is a small, friendly café situated at the rear of Glasney Lodge, serving Starbucks coffee and cake, plus freshly made boxed salads and paninis. Pizzas are made to order from 6pm daily during term time.

Bars

There are two bars on the Penryn Campus. For bigger gigs and events, the lower bar and restaurant convert to a nightclub/venue with stage, known as The Stannary, which has a late licence until 2am for events.

Tremough Shop

There is also a shop on campus, between the Stannary and Media Centre, which stocks a wide range of convenience products such as snacks, stationery, newspapers and magazines, stamps, mobile phone top-ups, art and course materials, household goods. The Tremough Shop also stocks a wide range of Fairtrade products and has a carrier bag and tin can recycling point.

The Stannary

The Stannary is the largest capacity venue in Cornwall. It has played host to the likes of Dizzee Rascal, Mr Scruff, Pendulum and, most recently, Radio One’s Annie Mac. It was the first place in the UK that Jack Johnson ever played. Performers love it for its atmosphere, it hosts everything from gigs to masked balls and, best of all, it’s ours.

The Upper Stannary

The Upper Stannary is a great place to come and chill out with comfy seating areas and plenty of things to do. There are two pool tables, an IT box (games machine) and also a large projector screen that is used for events such as film nights and is also on during the day showing news and sport.
