Exeter has a great mix of quirky independent stores and popular High Street shops. Another great thing about the City is that it packs all of this into a friendly sized area that you can get around easily without using public transport - however there's also an extensive bus service serving the city centre (Service D runs between the University’s Streatham campus and the city centre).
Princesshay Shopping Centre
Princesshay is Exeter's newest shopping development with a large range of independent and mainstream shops housed within a stunningly designed, attractive shopping complex. Example shops include Debenhams, Next, Topshop, New Look, Hotel Chocolat, Cult, East, All Saints, Apple and Topshop. There's also a number of great restaurants in Princesshay.

Guildhall Shopping Centre
Located in the centre of Exeter, the Guildhall Shopping Centre combines a modern shopping centre with traditional architecture. The Queen Street façade was designed by the same architect as Covent Garden in London and is the only shopping centre in the world to boast a 12th Century church at its heart.
The Guildhall is accessible from Queen Street and the High Street (a few shops up from McDonalds), shops within the Guildhall include Argos, Primark, Sainsbury’s, Gamestation, The Body Shop and WHSmith .
Harlequin’s Shopping Centre
Harlequin’s Shopping Centre is completely undercover and is full of independent retailers. Harlequin’s Shopping Centre Exeter has everything from interiors to fashion and hairdressers to accessories - as well as two cafes serving local produce.

High street
This is where you'll find the main shops including Boots, Marks and Spencer, H&M, Jack Wills, Monsoon and a wide variety of other retail outlets.
Gandy Street
Just off of the high street is Gandy Street (signposted from the High Street) which is home to several independent shops and cafes and is also reputed to be the inspiration for Diagon Alley in J.K. Rowling’s Harry Potter.
