You can use My Career Zone www.exeter.ac.uk/mycareerzone to find casual work, internships and graduate level job vacancies both in the UK and overseas.  You can also use My Career Zone to access appointments, news items, other resources, view our FAQs and get your career related enquiries answered. You will also receive regular e-newsletters with up-to-date information about events and activities happening on campus.

The Exeter Award

The Exeter Award is an achievement award for undergraduate and taught postgraduate students at all campuses at the University of Exeter. The Award is designed to enhance the employability of University of Exeter graduates by providing official recognition and evidence of extra-curricular activities and achievements. These include: attendance at skills sessions and training courses, active participation in sporting and musical activities, engagement in work experience and voluntary work.   Sessions that count towards The Exeter Award are delivered by the Students' Guild, Colleges, Careers and Employment Service, employers and alumni. Once you have completed The Exeter Award you can register for the Exeter Leaders Award.

Go to www.exeter.ac.uk/exeteraward for further information and to My Career Zone to sign up for events.

Duncan Gorst

It is of great importance to afford as many opportunities as possible to students in order to give them the best start in their professional careers. In today's competitive job market, organising ways through which Exeter students may discover more about potential employers and the vocation which suits them has never been so vital.

The Careers Service and university societies such as the Bracton Law Society or the Business and Economics societies can assist by organising a variety of events not only to showcase students to employers, but employers to students. These include frequent employer presentations; workshops targeting disciplines such as commercial awareness, application skills and interview technique; all of which can be officially recognised through the Exeter Award and the Exeter Leaders' Award. Whichever career you want to follow, you can be sure than your time at Exeter will effectively equip you for your future.
