How to apply
Fee status
The fees charged for study at Exeter fall broadly into three categories:
- Home/EU
- International
- Channel Islands
Will I pay the ‘Home/EU’ or ‘International’ fee?
Only certain categories of students will be charged the ‘Home/EU’ fee. Generally they are:
- people who have permanent residence in the UK and have been resident in the UK for three years
- European Economic Area (EEA) migrant workers and their families in the UK who have lived in the EEA for three years
- EU nationals and their children who have lived in the EEA for three years
- refugees (recognised by the UK government) and their families
- people who applied for asylum and have been granted exceptional leave to enter/remain, and their families
To see if you fall into any of these categories, visit the UKCISA website which contains specialist advice and guidance on key topics related to international education. Here you can also download the UKCISA Guidance Notes: ‘Tuition fees for study in England, Wales or Northern Ireland’ (opens in a new window).
Please note that the university is unable to undertake fee assessments prior to an application for a place to study being made. If you are unsure which fee category is applicable to you after making an application you may wish to contact us so we can send you a Fee Status Questionnaire to determine your fee status.
