Apply for postgraduate study

New students

Taught and research programmes (eg MA, MSc, MPhil, PhD)

If you are a new student who wishes to apply for a postgraduate taught (eg MA or MSc) or research degree (Masters by Research; MPhil or PhD) you can apply for your programme online. This is the quickest way to apply and receive a decision on your application. You can save and complete your application at a later date and upload some of the required documentation direct to us.

Current students

Taught programmes (eg MA, MSc)

If you are a current Exeter undergraduate applying for a taught postgraduate programme, you can apply using our Fast Track system. As we already hold information on your academic performance you don’t have to provide academic references or transcripts of your marks to date. Instead you complete a shorter application form, including a personal statement. You will normally receive a decision from us within five working days.

Research programmes (eg MPhil, PhD)

If you are a current Exeter student applying for a research postgraduate programme please apply online. This is the quickest way to apply and receive a decision on your application. You can save and complete your application at a later date and upload some of the required documentation direct to us.

If you are a postgraduate taught or postgraduate research applicant and you are unable to apply online, you can complete a paper application form (pdf). You will also need to complete an equal opportunities monitoring form (pdf) and enclose a cover sheet with your supporting documents.
