Careers and employment

The Method and Theory in Current Archaeology module, core to all taught programmes, introduces theoretical approaches, major research areas and the means by which to address archaeological questions that provide grounding in the research process, as well as oral and written presentation skills that are fundamental to careers in academia and professional archaeology. Postgraduates also have access to the wide range of support offered by our Employability and Graduate Development team. Postgraduates who completed their studies in 2009/2010 have secured jobs that include working as a coastal and marine archaeologist, Archaeological Research Officer and Time Team Archaeologist. All taught courses serve as research training to suit the requirements of the AHRC's postgraduate grants competition.
