MSc Applied Ecology

This MSc is taught at the Cornwall Campus by the Centre for Ecology and Conservation (CEC), the fastest growing institute of its kind in the UK.  As an MSc student you will be integrated into this institute and conduct cutting-edge research projects that aim to make genuine contributions to the field of applied ecology.

The programme has been designed in consultation with multiple external agencies to ensure excellent, relevant training that maximises graduate employability.  A distinctive and integral feature of our MSc is the high degree of input from ecologists in governmental and non-governmental organisations.

Programme modules target both research and practical applied ecology skills. The significant research component incorporates substantial field work opportunities in the UK and well as a field course in Africa. 

The taught component of this programme (three modules) is delivered in the first five months, during which time you will be encouraged to develop your census research projects. The rest of the academic year is dedicated to these projects. Research facilities include both state-of-the-art molecular and genetics labs, with a full range of microscopy equipment.  You will benefit from high quality high quality research supervision to develop and nurture your scientific potential.
