Biosciences in Exeter
We provide first-rate research facilities coupled with excellent teaching with a particular focus on integrative animal and plant biology, ecology and conservation, and the interface between biology and chemistry. All full-time academic staff are active in both teaching and research and our research groups cover a wide range of academic disciplines.
As a Biosciences postgraduate student, you will have access to excellent facilities including the Biocatalysis Centre and the refurbished Geoffrey Pope building, which has a new bioimaging facility complemented by state-of-the-art controlled environment facilities. We are conveniently situated close to a wide variety of habitats including moorland and woodland (deciduous and coniferous), rivers, lakes and reservoirs, estuaries and the sea coast.
This is an exciting time to join Biosciences with the recent acquisition of Illumina GA2 which allows ultra high through-put DNA sequencing and with millions of pounds of research grants being won by the School for this academic year alone, studying here has never been better.
