Arabic/Kurdish

Overview

With students from over 140 different countries, academic staff of 50 different nationalities and links to several universities worldwide, the University of Exeter offers a truly cosmopolitan and international student experience, as well as a safe learning environment in one of the most beautiful parts of the UK.

Our Modern Languages department ranks in the top 10 in the UK for the subject and we welcome students onto our MA Translation Studies. Choosing to study Arabic or Kurdish translation will integrate you with a class full of UK, European and International students; as well as providing you with professional training for a career in the language service industry.

You will be able to translate in both directions, into and out of English and Arabic or Kurdish. While the main language of teaching and assessment is English, in those seminars devoted to practical translation you will be taught by a native speaker of Arabic or Kurdish. You also have access to free English-language support through INTO University of Exeter.

All students have access to excellent resources including dedicated computer facilities and access to industry-standard translation software, as well as specialist translation holdings in the Library.
