I have definitely made some amazing international friends that I share a lot of interests with and for that I am very grateful. It was an amazing opportunity, one that I would definitely recommend to anyone!

Social Programme

We provide a social programme that encourages students to try something new, provides something familiar, and also ensures communication and engagement between our students. This includes a mixture of active undertakings such as sports and also quieter activities. The entire social programme is supported by the group leaders and supervised by the International Summer School to ensure all students have a wonderful summer experience. We will also try to show as many different activities and places to visit in Exeter and the surrounding area, as exploring a new place is just as important as getting to know new people and learning new things.

All transport required for the social programme is included in the programme cost.

Activites include:

  • Surfing lesson on a beautiful local beach
  • Quiz night and challenges
  • Local sites of interest and cultural activities
  • Climbing activities and sports events

Please note that activities are subject to availability and weather dependent in some instances. Exact details of the timetable for the social programme is provided closer to the start date.

The Pre University Summer School is an intensive programme and we recognise that students may well just want to relax and socialise with their new friends. This is also one of the best ways to get to know people and ensure that bonds formed during the programme last beyond the departure date. For this reason, we build in free time into the end of the afternoon and into the evening programme.

The free time aspect of the programme also ensures that participants can experience the independence of life as a student to choose how they would like to spend their time while still having the safety net of the International Summer School Team to support them. This can include exploring the local area, the campus, working on group projects or watching a film with friends.
