Carers

We work closely with carers to understand the experiences and needs of family members and others providing unpaid care for people with dementia.

We develop and test interventions to support carers and equip them with the skills they need to provide care for the person with dementia.

Examples of our work in this area include exploring influences on well-being for family carers, and sources of stress and distress, examining how marital relationships change and what enables family carers to find meaning in the role.
