Case study: A zero carbon school
Researchers at the University of Exeter are helping to plan the future of sustainable education by lending their expertise to a school-building project in Exeter.
Montgomery Primary School in the St. Thomas area of the city is scheduled for completion in September 2011, and will be the first zero carbon school based on Passivhaus principles.
The University's Centre for Energy and the Environment, part of the College of Engineering, Mathematics and Physical Sciences, is working with local architecural company NPS South West and Devon County Council on the project.
