Dr Allison McCaig.
Dr Allison McCaig
Allison is Project Manager for the University’s Wellcome Trust Institutional Strategic Support Fund (ISSF).
This £1.5million award, match-funded by the University, is being used to support a new virtual Biomedical Informatics Hub which will enhance the institute’s analytical capacity.
The ISSF is also being used to provide Seed Corn support to enable emerging researchers in biomedical sciences and medical humanities to produce preliminary data in support of fellowship or grant applications.
Before coming to the University of Exeter Allison worked for the South West of England Regional Development Agency, where she was a senior regional and local economic analyst.
Prior to her move to Exeter, she worked in the Mathematical Sciences Programme team at the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council.
She has a degree and PhD in microbiology, with ten years experience in biosciences research at the University of Aberdeen.
