Alan Turing Institute

University of Exeter is a university partner of   – the national institute for data science. Together with the rest of Turing’s university and industry partners, Exeter is part of the Institute’s collaborative effort to apply data science research to real-world problems and train the next generation.

Alan Brown, David Plans and David Lopez from Exeter INDEX team have been awarded three Alan Turing Institute fellowships for expert research in Data Science and AI.

QUEX sees The University of Exeter and The University of Queensland partnering to undertake collaborative research bringing together a cross-disciplinary team of academics to address some of the challenges and opportunities related to digital change.

Present and future digital worlds mean wars can be fought without soldiers, medical procedures can be undertaken without surgeons, education can take place with a teacher on one continent and students on another. New digital worlds also present challenges to older industries and technologies, threats to businesses, governments and societies and question the future of work and work places.
