Knowledge Exchange Manager - Environment and Sustainability Institute
Role
Alex's role is to build relationships between stakeholders and businesses in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly and the University’s Environment and Sustainability Institute (ESI). The aim is to identify opportunities for collaborative research in the ESI’s three themes related to environmental change:
- The Natural Environment
- Clean Technologies
- Social Science and Sustainability
Alex is responsible for delivering the 'business assist', economic growth and job creation targets set against the ESI by its funders including the ERDF Convergence partnership, and for securing and managing partnerships with stakeholders, public sector and other Combined Universities in Cornwall (CUC) academic institutions which support the ESI’s objectives.
Profile
Alex is an experienced project manager and bid writer, with over 15 years experience within the environmental sustainability and low carbon economy sector.
He has worked at a local, regional and European level in the fields of nature conservation, sustainable transport and land-use planning, business support, sustainable construction, renewable energy and carbon accounting.
He has been a director of several organisations and chaired environmental networks at a European level.
