Research Development Manager - EPSRC

Role

Charlotte is a Research Development Manager facing the Engineering and Physical Sciences Research Council (EPSRC). This largely involves supporting academics with bringing together consortium for large, complex cross-college, inter-disciplinary bids into the EPSRC that may involve a number of partners.

Profile

Charlotte has a Masters degree from Exeter in Physics with Medical applications. She subsequently stayed on at Exeter to study for a PhD in Bio Physics. Her PhD investigated the Bone-Cartilage Interface in Osteoarthritis and Osteoporosis.

Charlotte joined Research and Knowledge Transfer to support the contract research portfolio in 2008.

She became project manager for the Economic Challenge Investment Fund, a Higher Education Funding Council for England funded project supporting businesses during the economic downturn.

In 2010, Charlotte took on a role to manage all the University’s portfolio of contract research and consultancy. This involved supporting academics and colleges with the development and management of research projects with business and government to ensure the effective collaboration of organisations and academics.

She moved into her current role in 2012.
