European Research Manager, Team Lead

Role

Enda is responsible for leading on current European Union funded research opportunities across the university, and for ensuring that the University is well prepared for the forthcoming  Horizon 2020 - which will be the future funding programme for Research and Innovation from 2014 to 2020 and the successor to FP7 and the Competitiveness and Innovation Programme (CIP).
Her role includes:

  • Ensuring dissemination of EU funding opportunities across the University
  • Providing training to college teams and researchers on EU funding opportunities
  • Advising on and contributing to the preparation of EU research funding proposals, including budget preparation and ensuring compliance with legal, financial and administrative aspects of the specific call type  
  • For successful funding applications, negotiates the contract with the European Commission and provides ongoing advice to grant holders on their EU projects
  • First point of contact for the Business School on EU research funding opportunities

Profile

Enda joined the University of Exeter in 2005. Previous roles include EU contract management and funding, project management, and research within a vaccine development company and research at PhD and post-doctoral level.
